to re-open our doors to our new space! I know it has been a while since we have posted but we've been a bit busy! This year has offered so many wonderful opportunites for the gallery and we can't wait to show you what we have been up to. I have tried to document the before and after images and those along the way so that everyone can see what we have really been doing behing closed doors of our new space. We are so thrilled and blessed to be able to find the perfect spot right in the heart of Asheboro which is Sunset Avenue.
We are almost ready...

the end of a lovely year...
Wednesday, December 31, 2008I can't begin to tell you how this year has shaped and changed our lives. Our new little gallery of sorts has taken shape and has blossomed into one of my favorite places. I am a bit sad to see 2008 disappear forever into our memory but I do know that 2009 will be yet another great year with lots of positive thought.

Things are happening at Circa!!
Thursday, December 11, 2008
WOW! We have had so many wonderful events going on at the gallery, I just don't know where to start. Now with the holiday season upon us we are busier than ever. I have posted some photos of a workshop the gallery hosted. The advanced art students at Greensboro Day School came for a one day workshop with our very own Rich Powell. They came toting their laptops and were ready to learn and expand their knowledge of photoshop. Rich was just the man to show them. Not only is he incredibly talented and very knowledgeable, he's a heck of a lot of fun!
We had our October show with Asheville artist Aaron Tucker, entitled "industrial design" The work showed so well in gallery and received a lot of compliments.
November was quite a head spinning month!! We hosted 2 evenings of gallery rentals. Randolph Hospital and Randolph Community College hosted the Society for Photographic Education Southeast Regional Conference. They displayed the juried photography show at the gallery and hosted their evening social.
We partnered with the friends of the Randolph Library and brought in an author/artist from Charleston South Carolina, Nicole Seitz. She was wonderful!! The event was such a great success and brought such fabulous culture to Asheboro. We can't thank you enough Nicole! We showed her paintings and Books A Million was on hand to sell her latest 2 novels. Her 3rd novel comes out this spring. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for all their work and support!
We also exhibited our most classic and complementary show. Ben Owen III and Brian Hibbard "Tradition and Intuition in form and color" talk about a gorgeous show!! We will post photos soon!!
December brought with it the Tour of Homes event. Circa Gallery was selected to be a part of this event and we worked extremely hard to create a festive vibe! Amy did a fabulous job coming up with creative decoration ideas and did just about all the decor leg work. It looks soo great, we just don't want to take it down.
We have our Jingle Mingle coming up Friday night. We are partnering with a boutique in Asheboro and hosting a progressive shop crawl. The night starts at Etc. Boutique with appetizers and other delights and ends at Circa with desserts and access to Timothy's Restaurant's new bar. The event runs 6-9pm. We will have everything in the gallery 10% off with the exception of the Ben Owen III and Brian Hibbard show.
We are constantly bringing in new handmade original pieces of work from various artists. We work to keep the gallery "fresh" and exciting... but most of all we are loving what we do and hope you will visit soon!!
